Dogs naturally love to chew! Dogs love to chew antlers because as the antlers are growing they are very vascular and when the antler hardens on the elk's head- those vessels dry up and your dog can smell them in there!
As an aside- antler dog chews have an undetectable scent to humans but are super interesting to dogs!
